Happy Christmas

This year we decided to have Mary Ann visit a couple weeks before Christmas to celebrate early. She helped me make my first turkey, which was organic and "free range" but probably not pastured as I would have liked it to be. We used our new roaster oven and the 15lb turkey was cooked to perfection! We had a nice meal with just the grown ups.

Zach and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary going to see Harland Williams stand-up comedy at Parlor Li've.

Mary Ann got Julia a stacking train and a nice music kit. And since I'm a health freak she got me the book "Back to Eden" by Jethro Kloss, which I am really enjoying by the way! She also got us some nice music: best of CCR, The Doors, Sly and the Family Stone greatest hits, and Bob Dylan The Bootleg Series.

Julia loved watching Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, the stop-motion animated feature. We trekked to West Seattle to get a photo with the REAL Santa. Zach debated the entire ride there about whether we should tell Julia if Santa is real or not, much to Mary Ann's amusement.

Our family celebrated a quiet Christmas a couple weeks later then headed off to Leavenworth, WA where there is a Bavarian themed town. We were planning to do some snow tubing and sleigh riding but we got distracted by all the cute little shoppes and eateries. We found some really nice apple Strudel at a nearby bakery and ate veggiewurst at Munchen Haus.

Overall it was a very nice and relaxing holiday.
